Los Angeles City Economic and Workforce Development Program

LA is helping small business with

  • Micro-loan Program for business impacted by COVID-19
  • Eviction Moratorium for commercial tenants

California Employment Development Department (EDD)

EDD support for business (tax extensions, other program)

  • Employers can receive 60-day extension for payroll taxes

  • Employers can apply for Unemployment Insurance (UI) Work Sharing Program if reduced production, services, or other conditions cause them to seek an alternative to layoffs

  • If you operate a business and are planning closure or layoffs - A Rapid Response team is available to help avert layoffs, and provide onsite services to employers.

Ready to apply for forgiveness?

  1. Contact your lending institution. Loan forgiveness application are processed through your lender. In addition to the SBA application, your lender may require additional documentation
  2. Fill out the SBA Loan Forgiveness Application (pdf). English Version / Spanish Version
  • The SBA released a PPP EZ Loan Forgiveness Application (pdf). You can use the EZ application if you meet the following criteria:
    • You are self-employed and have no employees;
    • You did not reduce the salaries or wages of your employees by more than 25% and did not reduce the number of hours for your employees; or
    • You experienced reduction in business activity as a result of health directives related to COVID-19 and did not reduce the salaries or wages of your employees by more than 25%.
